Here in Texas we know that battles are long and tough, but we also know that you should never count out the underdog. The fight to protect women’s rights and access to reproductive health care has been a long battle in our state. Right now, we are at a crucial point in the fight. With November’s election, we have the power to organize and to fight back with our votes so that those who harm Texas women don’t win.
Greg Abbott wants to be your next governor. He is running a campaign based upon his long political career that includes blocking women from receiving lifesaving preventive health care and denying Texas women access to affordable birth control. He also wants to make abortion illegal, even in cases of rape, incest, or to protect the life of the woman.
Texas doesn’t need a governor who wants government to make critical medical decisions best left to a woman, her family, her doctor and her God. But only you and other Texas voters have the ability to Stop Greg Abbott.
On top of Greg Abbott’s resume of working against Texas women, he’s running for office on a slate with some of the most dangerous candidates we’ve ever seen. Dan Patrick wants to be your next Lieutenant Governor. The first bill Sen. Dan Patrick filed when he arrived in the State Senate in 2007 was to trigger an abortion ban if Roe v. Wade were overturned. After Patrick bullied through passage of a mandatory ultrasound bill — legislation aimed to shame and humiliate women — in the Senate he said, “There’s nothing that I’ll ever pass that will be more important.â€
It’s clear that the fight is on, and that we need to stop these harmful attacks on Texas women.
Together we can make sure that #WomenWinTX this November.
